Soil Health & Agronomist services available
Pyrenees Hay Australia understand soil is one of the main factors of success for your crop. Although altering soil types is not possible, adapting them through ameliorants, replacing lost nutrients and increasing soil biology will improve your yields and profitability. Soil tests are an effective way to understand your soils and ideally should be done every 3-5 years in each paddock. Our Agronomist is able to provide these services and set you up with a forward plan in order to maximise your production. Please call us to organise an appointment.
Please check out the links below for some interesting information on soil in Australia.

Plant Health and Agronomist services available
Plant health is a crucial part to optimum yields. There are many ways to ensure your plant has the health and strength it needs to survive the elements and biological challenges it may face. The first place it starts is with your soil. Regular paddock checks are important to ensure these issues are dealt with at the key times throughout the season. If you are not sure, just ask. We have a full time agronomist in our team that will be happy to come out and help you from pre planting to in crop and beyond.
Please check out the links below for some interesting information in relation to crop health.

Cultivars/Varieties
The cultivar or otherwise known as variety that you choose is a deciding factor between failure and success of your crop. Choosing the right cultivar is based on factors such as soil type, climate in your area, target market, grazing options and so forth. If you are not happy with the performance of your current cultivar, its best you talk to your neighbour, see what works for them. Or you could call our agronomist to discuss your options.
See below some information on leading cultivars in the Export Hay industry.

Hay Storage
So you’ve harvested and baled your hay and you’re keen to get it out of the weather in case it rains (which seems to often occur when it’s baling time). Is your shed sufficient? What if you don’t have a shed or your shed is full? What are your options?
Please see the links below for further information on hay storage and some rules to abide by.
